Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 May 2026
We process personal data exclusively in compliance with the data protection laws applicable in France, in particular with the Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the General Data Protection Regulation.
In this Privacy Policy, we would like to inform you on the use of your personal data by Electronic Theatre Controls France SAS, Zone Urbaparc - Bâtiment E, 6 Boulevard de la Libération, Saint-Denis, 93200 France (tel.: +33 1 4243 3535, email: Shop.fr@etcconnect.com) as the data controller in connection with the online shop at https://shop.etcconnect.fr/. For other websites of ETC and its affiliates, the Privacy Policy referred to on these sites will apply.
This Privacy Policy is only applicable insofar as we have not entered into any deviating agreement with you and/or you have given us consent for more extensive processing.
English is the only contractual language offered by this website; the French language is provided solely as a courtesy to our customers.
1. Collection of Data
In general, our website is accessible without prior registration. Our website is hosted by BigCommerce.com. ETC does not have access to, nor does it control, non-anonymized data collected as a result of accessing this website, including information regarding your browser and operating system as well as the IP address of the requesting computer in order to enable such access. Please visit BigCommerce’s privacy policy to learn more about its data collection practices: https://www.bigcommerce.com/privacy/.
In anonymized form, we use data from BigCommerce for statistical purposes and in order to optimize our service. Furthermore, we use cookies and Google Analytics as described below.
If you order from us, we will collect further personal data such as your name, email address, billing and delivery address from you, which we will use for the purpose of fulfilling your order. If you opt for creating a customer account, we will save the data for future orders using this account. Furthermore, we will provide you with information regarding your past orders within your account.
In case you contact us via email or via other means, we will use the personal data contained in your message for the purpose of responding to or otherwise handling your request.
Should you neither order from us or contact us, we will not collect any further personal data.
2. Retention
Your data will only be retained as long as is necessary for the aforementioned purposes or required by law – in particular any statutory duty to preserve records. If you opt for creating a customer account, we may retain your data for a longer period until you decide to delete your account.
3. Transfer to Third Parties
In addition to employees, ETC uses affiliates and third parties as data processors for the processing of personal data. The confidentiality of your personal data will be safeguarded by written agreements with these data processors. ETC will remain the data controller and responsible for the processing.
We will otherwise transfer your personal data to third parties only insofar as this is necessary for fulfilling your orders and/or to handle your requests.
Depending on the method of payment chosen by you, your personal data may be transferred to third parties as follows:
If you pay by credit card, your data will be transferred for the purpose of payment processing to Visa or Mastercard. You will be informed thereof when choosing this payment method.
If you pay via PayPal, your data will be transferred for the purpose of payment processing to PayPal.
With regard to data processors and third parties in countries that are neither Member States of the European Union nor another contracting party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“third country”), ETC will always ensure that (i) the applicable laws in such country or other rules applicable to the recipient ensure an adequate level of protection according to a binding decision of the European Commission, or (ii) there are appropriate safeguards for the rights and freedoms, in particular safeguards based on contractual agreements (including the Standard Contractual Clauses issued by the European Commission).
Notwithstanding, ETC may transfer personal data to a third country without such adequate level of protection and without appropriate safeguards if the transfer is necessary for the performance of a contract between you and us or the implementation of pre-contractual measures taken at your request, including transfers to a carrier in case of a delivery into a third country.
4. Email Address
We will use your email address for transactional emails regarding your orders (including sending you contractual information and shipping and other status notices), for important notices regarding your customer account, and to respond to requests from you.
If we have received your email address in the context of a previous order, and if you have not objected, we may also send you information on similar products and services. You may object to such use of your email address at any time without incurring any costs beyond the cost of transmitting your objection at the base rate of your provider. We will inform you about this right to object when we receive your email address and in each email that we send.
5. Cookies
Cookies are small text files which may be stored on your computer when you visit our website in particular for the purpose of attributing the access to multiple web pages or files to the same user. We use cookies to implement the shopping cart and the ordering process as well as for the login to your customer account. In addition, we use cookies in the context of Google Analytics as described below.
Most browsers are configured to accept cookies automatically. You may prevent this in the settings of your browser. Please note, however, that if you do so, you will not be able to use the shopping cart, to submit orders or to login to your customer account for technical reasons.
6. Google Analytics
We make use of Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies for analyzing the use of our website by you. The information regarding your use of the website collected with the help of such cookies will typically be transferred to a server of Google located in the U.S. However, as we have activated Google Analytics’ IP anonymizing function, your IP address will first be truncated in a Member State of the European Union or another contracting party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional situations will the full address be transferred to Google’s servers in the U.S. and then be truncated there. Google will use this information as our data processor in order to analyze your use of our website, and to compile reports on the website activities and provide further services regarding the web and internet use to us. The truncated email address transferred in the context of Google Analytics will not be combined with other data of Google.
You may prevent the collection of data gathered with the help of cookies regarding your use of our website (including the transfer of your truncated IP address) through Google, and the further processing of such data through Google by installing the browser plugin available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=fr. In this context, we would like to point out that we use Google Analytics with the parameter “anonymizeIp” in order to ensure that the IP addresses collected are truncated and thereby anonymized (so-called IP masking).
7. Microsoft Clarity
ETC partners with Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising to capture how you use and interact with our website through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay to improve our products/services. Website usage data is captured using first and third party cookies and other tracking technologies to determine the popularity of products/services and online activity. Additionally, we use this information for site optimization, fraud/security purposes, and advertising. For more information about how Microsoft collects and uses your data, please visit: https://privacy.microsoft.com/en-US/privacystatement.
8. Meta
Our site uses the Meta Pixel, formerly Facebook Pixel. This tool helps gauge ad success, understand user activity, and tailor ads to relevant audiences. It works by using cookies and tracking pixels to collect data on your interactions with our site and ads.
9. Plugins
Other than those listed above, we use no further social media plugins or other content included from websites of third parties.
10. Right to access, rectification, erasure, or restriction
You may at any time request from us access to your personal data processed by us as well as rectification or erasure of such personal data or restriction of processing concerning such data.
If you have given us consent to process your personal data, you may revoke such consent at any time with regard to future processing.
You may also request information regarding the appropriate or suitable safeguards regarding transfers to third countries and a copy of the underlying contractual agreements or provisions.
